AIDS Research at NIH: New Opportunities to Change the Course of the AIDS Epidemic

Leading disease experts, including the NIH’s Anthony Fauci, MD, Director, National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases and Jack Whitescarver, PhD, Director, NIH Office of AIDS Research, to discuss promising scientific advances and untapped opportunities in AIDS research.  

What:

A Congressional briefing to discuss the value and importance of U.S. investments in AIDS research at the National Institutes of Health (NIH), including promising scientific advances, new opportunities, and the broad benefits for other areas of health research. The briefing, held in collaboration with Reps. Rosa DeLauro, Barbara Lee, and Elliot Engel, is co-sponsored by amfAR, The Foundation for AIDS Research; AVAC; HIV Medicine Association; IDSA/HIVMA Center for Global Health Policy; San Francisco AIDS Foundation; and the Treatment Action Group (TAG).
